Drivers Ready to Play in the Dirt to help Children’s Hospitals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The last thing any racecar driver wants to be called is “dirty,” but they’ll make an exception to this rule on Wednesday, June 8 when the most celebrated dirt track in all of motorsports hosts the Prelude to the Dream. Stewart Announces Application Process for Children’s Hospitals to Become Beneficiaries of 2011 Prelude to the Dream

ROSSBURG, Ohio – The seventh annual Prelude to the Dream all-star dirt Late Model race at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio is slated for June 8, and just as last year’s event benefited four of the nation’s top children’s hospitals, the 2011 edition will do the same – with a slight twist. Applications are now being taken for children’s hospitals from across the nation to win one of the coveted four primary beneficiary spots of the Prelude to the Dream. Stewart Wins NMPA/Home Depot Humanitarian of the Year award

It was announced today at the NASCAR/National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) Myers Brothers Luncheon in Las Vegas that Tony Stewart has won the 2010 NMPA/Home Depot Humanitarian of the Year award. Stewart was honored with a specially-designed crystal trophy along with a $100,000 donation to the Tony Stewart Foundation for his charity and humanitarian efforts at the annual awards luncheon.
