Hornaday Ready For First Win of the Season
There are a few tracks on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series circuit that four-time champion Ron Hornaday does not know his way around. The “Monster Mile” of Dover International Speedway is not one of them. With a victory to their credit, the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Chevrolet team is looking for their first win of the season during Friday’s Lucas Oil 200. Hornaday led nearly half of the 200-lap event at the one-mile track back in June of 2007, while running for KHI’s first Truck Series championship. The No. 33 Chevrolet spent 196 laps inside the top-15 and made 17 green-flag passes to bring home the team’s second of four wins for the season. The No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado will partner with Utz Quality Foods for three races during … Read entire article »

Harvick, Hornaday home in on Martinsville
By Jared Turner Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service Kevin Harvick Inc. has been shut out of victory lane in the first three races of the 2011 Camping World Truck Series season. With Martinsville Speedway up next, the gate to victory lane could be about to swing wide open. KHI trucks have captured three of the past four Martinsville truck series events, with team co-owner/part-time truck series driver Kevin Harvick winning consecutive spring races and four-time truck series champion Ron Hornaday winning last fall. Harvick is set to make his first truck start of 2011 this weekend in the familiar No. 2 Chevrolet that is fielded out of the shop he co-owns with wife DeLana. That shop—in Kernersville, N.C.—is 45 minutes south of Martinsville Speedway. Given the close proximity, KHI drivers and team members are prone to unload … Read entire article »

The driver has led a total of 233 laps around the 0.526-mile paperclip-shaped Virginia track, which has been on the Truck Series schedule since the inaugural 1995 season. Hornaday Heading Back to Martinsville For A Little Redemption
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to the 0.526-mile oval this weekend where the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) stable was able to sweep both races during the 2010 season. It was KHI’s most recent trip to Martinsville last fall when four-time champion Ron Hornaday was able to capture his first victory at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, which had eluded him for 16 previous starts. KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick will head into the weekend as the defending race winner, visiting victory lane after leading 187 of 250 laps. Ron Hornaday finished second and brought home a one-two finish for KHI in that spring event. The No. 33 has paired up with Home Market Foods and their leading brand of frozen meatballs, Cooked Perfect Meatballs, for the Saturday afternoon event. … Read entire article »

Kahne wins Darlington truck race
By Jared Turner Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service DARLINGTON, S.C.—Kasey Kahne did it again. Making his first and possibly only start of the year in the Camping World Truck Series, Kahne cruised to a relatively comfortable victory in Saturday’s Too Tough To Tame 200 at Darlington Raceway. The victory made Kahne the first driver in the truck series to win three of his first four starts. Second alongside Elliott Sadler on a restart with 53 laps to go, Kahne immediately dispatched of Sadler—who had taken two tires under the previous caution—and held on through a final restart with three laps left to score the win. Four-time truck champion Ron Hornaday Jr. finished second, followed by defending series champion and 2010 Darlington winner Todd Bodine. Matt Crafton and James Buescher completed the top five. The victory was Kahne’s … Read entire article »

Hornaday wins for first time at Martinsville
By Reid Spencer Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service MARTINSVILLE, Va.—It’s fair to say Ron Hornaday Jr. clocked Kyle Busch on Saturday at Martinsville Speedway. No, Hornaday didn’t knock Busch around the racetrack during the Kroger 200 Camping World Truck Series race at the .526-mile short track. Instead, he beat Busch to the checkered flag to win for the first time at Martinsville, coincidentally the first time the track’s coveted grandfather clock trophy—in the past the exclusive province of Sprint Cup winners—has been awarded in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series. The victory was Hornaday’s second of the season and the 47th of his career. “They should have put the clock up earlier—it might have given me a little more motivation,” Hornaday quipped after the race. Hornaday, a four-time truck series champion, powered his No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. … Read entire article »
