Probation’s over—will Busch, Harvick have at it?
By Reid Spencer Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service BROOKLYN, Mich.—Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch have escaped NASCAR’s version of purgatory without further penalty, but that doesn’t mean—necessarily—that the drivers will mix it up in Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway just because the handcuffs are off. “Obviously, probation ties your hands a little bit on certain things,” Harvick said Friday. “But you still go out and race as hard as you can and do the things you need to do.” NASCAR placed Harvick and Busch on probation through June 15 for a confrontation after the May 7 Southern 500 at Darlington, where Harvick tried to punish Busch through the window of his Toyota and Busch shoved Harvick’s Chevrolet into the pit road wall. Probation, however, didn’t prevent Harvick from harassing Busch last … Read entire article »

By Reid Spencer Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service DOVER, Del. — Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch just don’t like each other. They definitely didn’t like each other during the pit road dust-up, when Harvick tried to punch Busch through the window of his car, and Busch pushed Harvick’s unattended Chevrolet out of the way and into the wall. They didn’t like each other when NASCAR sat them down in the hauler at Dover International Speedway on Thursday and explained the terms of the probation they earned for the Darlington fracas. And they don’t like each other now. During Thursday’s meeting, Busch offered an explanation for hooking Harvick in the right-rear quarter panel and spinning him on the frontstretch. According … Read entire article »

Then again, Earnhardt admitted, if he had been a front-runner over the past few years, he might have been a more frequent participant in the sort of postrace pit-road altercation that lightened the wallets of his fellow drivers. “I’ve got a racecar to drive, man,” Earnhardt said Tuesday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he tried his hand at iRacing on the world’s largest video screen. “If I was as competitive as those guys have been the last several years, I’d definitely be a lot more aggressive about it. “If I ran up front all the time, I’d be in my … Read entire article »
