Late Caution Spoils Busch’s Pursuit of First Martinsville Victory

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Kyle Busch was minutes away from adding the elusive Martinsville Grandfather Clock to his impressive trophy collection when a late caution set up a four-lap shootout. Busch held point for the first two laps, but with two laps remaining Johnny Sauter got around Busch with a bump-and-run maneuver then held off the No. 18 Toyota Tundra to secure the victory. Late pass gives Sauter win at Martinsville

By Reid Spencer Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service MARTINSVILLE, Va.—Polesitter Johnny Sauter passed Kyle Busch on the next-to-last lap of Saturday’s Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway and held on to post his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory of the season and the third of his career. Busch, who has never won a race at Martinsville, ran second, .453 seconds behind Sauter. Ron Hornaday Jr. finished third, followed by his team owner, Kevin Harvick, who recovered from early trouble to finish fourth. Late restart gives Busch truck series win at Texas

By Reid Spencer Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service FORT WORTH, Texas—Kyle Busch blew past Todd Bodine on a restart on Lap 127 and held off Johnny Sauter over the final 20 laps to win Friday night’s WinStar World Casino 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. Sauter came home second, followed by Matt Crafton and Bodine, the series points leader. Busch’s seventh win in 14 starts this season gives him 23 career victories in the series. Bodine assumed the lead on Lap 111, when Bobby Hamilton Jr., who was off-sequence on pits stops, brought his No. 47 truck to pit road from the top spot.
