Austin Dillon takes over truck points lead after Sauter penalty

Sauter’s No. 13 truck failed inspection after Sunday morning’s race at Pocono Raceway, and on Tuesday NASCAR penalized Sauter six championship points. Hornaday wins at Texas when Sauter is black-flagged
By John Sturbin / Special to Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service FORT WORTH, Texas—Ron Hornaday Jr. won the Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino 400k Friday night when race leader Johnny Sauter was black-flagged for changing lanes on the night’s final restart. Sauter, who had passed Hornaday for the lead with an outside move on Lap 130, was penalized for moving from the outside lane in front of Hornaday before crossing the start/finish line on a green-white-checkered restart on Lap 166. Success building trucks points leader Sauter’s confidence

The first came on April 2 when he rallied past the always-stout Kyle Busch to win the Camping World Truck Series Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway. Sauter’s second—and even bigger—reason to rejoice followed on April 4 when the ThorSport Racing driver and his wife welcomed their second child, daughter Paige, into the world. Somewhat lost in all the excitement was that Sauter also became the truck series points leader with his win at Martinsville, a track where he’d finished no better than 15th in six previous starts.
