NMPA honors Jim Hunter with Myers Brothers Award

By Reid Spencer Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service LAS VEGAS—The 52 Myers Brothers Award winners who preceded Jim Hunter all were giants of the stock car racing industry, but, arguably, there has never been a more popular recipient of the award conferred by the National Motorsports Press Association. Hunter, who served as NASCAR’s vice president of corporate communications until he lost his battle with cancer in October at age 71, was the overwhelming choice to receive this year’s honor, which was announced by NMPA president Dustin Long at Thursday’s Myers Brothers Luncheon at Bellagio. NASCAR Announces New Marketing and Communications Department
