Stenhouse Jr. Drives to First Career Win at Iowa
NEWTON, IOWA – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. took the lead from Roush Fenway teammate Carl Edwards on the restart with 18 laps to go and never looked back, powering his No. 6 Blackwell Angus Ford Mustang to his first career NASCAR victory in a solid performance at Iowa Speedway. The victory gave Roush Fenway a one-two finish, with Edwards finishing runner-up in the race. KBM is partnering with Joe Nemechek’s NEMCO Motorsports to put 2007 Formula One champion Kimi Raikkonen in the No. 87 Toyota for next Saturday’s Top Gear 300 Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, according to a FoxSports.com report. KBM owner Kyle Busch dropped hints about the deal after winning Friday night’s Camping World Truck Series event at Charlotte. Busch alluded to the car in his shop, acknowledged that it was a Toyota but declined to reveal its provenance. KBM will assemble the car Raikkonen will drive in his Nationwide debut. Austin Dillon Headed to Iowa for Kevin Harvick Inc.
Austin Dillon and the No. 33 Rheem team head to Newton, Iowa for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway. Sunday’s race will mark Dillon’s second start with the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team. The young driver made his first start in the No. 33 Chevrolet Impala in April at Nashville Superspeedway where he captured his career-best series qualifying effort with a third-place starting position. Sadler a Rookie at Iowa
Although he is a 16-year veteran in the sport, Elliott Sadler’s No. 2 OneMain Financial Chevrolet will carry rookie stripes when the NASCAR Nationwide Series rolls into Iowa Speedway. Sadler has never made a start at the 0.875-mile tri-oval, which began hosting Nationwide and Truck Series events in 2009. This is the second track this season where Sadler has had rookie status.
