Budweiser Shootout Invite Adds to the Excitement and Workload at Furniture Row Racing
DENVER – When Furniture Row Racing received the recent news from NASCAR that its driver Regan Smith qualified for the invitational Budweiser Shootout, the excitement meter as well as the work meter hit new levels at the team’s shop in Denver. The invite to the prestigious, non-points Budweiser Shootout — Saturday night, Feb. 12 at Daytona International Speedway — was on the basis of Smith being a former NASCAR Sprint Cup rookie of the year (2008). It will mark the first time that Smith and the Furniture Row Racing organization will compete in the Budweiser Shootout, the traditional opening event of Daytona 500 Speedweeks. Furniture Row Racing Aligns with Stewart-Haas Racing for Pit Crew
DENVER, Colo. – Regan Smith’s No. 78 over-the-wall pit crew for Furniture Row Racing will be employed and trained by Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) during the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. “We are excited to partner with SHR as it relates to the pit crew,” said Joe Garone, Furniture Row Racing general manager. “After reviewing SHR’s program, personnel and facility we are confident that SHR will deliver a crew that meets all of our objectives.” The No. 78 pit crew will be under the supervision of SHR pit crew coach Joe Piette, who also oversees the pit crews for Tony Stewart’s No. 14 team and Ryan Newman’s No. 39 team. Regan Smith and Furniture Row Racing Agree to Contract Extension
DENVER, Colo. – Furniture Row Racing announced today that Regan Smith has signed a contract extension through the 2012 season to drive the team’s No. 78 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Smith, the 2008 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year, is currently in his second season driving for the Colorado-based Furniture Row Racing team.
