Hamlin dominates at Richmond

By Reid Spencer Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service RICHMOND, Va.—With a dominant car that led 199 laps Friday night, Denny Hamlin won the Bubba Burger 250 Nationwide Series race when the third caution of the race slowed the action after Hamlin had taken the white flag to start Lap 251. A day after winning his own late-model charity race at his hometown .75-mile short track, Hamlin covered the field in his No. 20 Toyota and picked up his first Nationwide Series victory in his second start of the season. Love of racing keeps Nemechek running in Nationwide

By Lee Montgomery Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service Joe Nemechek ranks among the top 15 in the Nationwide Series in career victories and poles. And he was the series champion in 1992. Recently, though, Nemechek has become a victim of the money game in the sport. Without proper sponsorship, he has had to struggle to make races, let alone run the entire distance and compete for a top finish. The past two weeks have been an excellent, if unfortunate, indicator of that. He finished third at Talladega on April 16 for his best finish in almost seven years in the series.
