Scott ready to play offense at Talladega

Heading into the Nationwide Series season’s first superspeedway race, at Daytona in February, Scott admitted his Joe Gibbs Racing team played a little too much defense, and the result was an accident, engine failure and a 34th-place finish. For Saturday’s Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway, Scott and his team will go on offense. “Personally, I feel like the No. 11 team showed up at Daytona with the wrong mindset,” Scott said. “We showed up at Daytona very defensive, kind of on our heels, trying to guard against the bad things that can happen. Brian Scott Gets First Top Ten of the Year

Brian Scott utilized smart pit strategy and a great late race save to claim his first top ten finish of the 2009 season in Saturday afternoon’s American Commercial Lines 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Scott put himself in position to win the event with a great restart, storming into the lead on lap 122 of the 130 lap event. Unfortunately for Scott, Todd Bodine and Kevin Harvick made it three wide with Scott in the middle on the next lap causing Scott to lose traction and nearly spin. Brian Scott Hopes to Make A Good Impression at Fontana

MOORESVILLE, NC – With a tough race at Daytona behind him, second year NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Brian Scott is anxious to head west for better fortunes. His No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra did not fare badly at Daytona as the Xpress Motorsports team posted a solid 12th place finish. But the team has high hopes for the 2009 NCWTS season after closing the 2008 campaign with an average finish of 8.5 in the circuit’s final eight events. Scott recorded five top-10s capped by a fourth place finish at Phoenix International Raceway and a second-place run in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
