Kyle Busch wins Nationwide race in overtime

On the radio before the final restart of Saturday’s Aaron’s 312 Nationwide Series race at Talladega Superspeedway, Busch pointed out to crew chief Jason Ratcliff that the fastest car—not the prettiest—got to go to victory lane. In a wild ending that had Mike Wallace’s Chevrolet spinning upside down and landing on its roof, Busch won his fourth Nationwide race of the season and the 47th of his career when a caution flag on Lap 124 froze the field with Busch in the lead. Overcoming damage from a wreck on Lap 88, Busch got the win on the second attempt at a green-white-checkered-flag finish that took the race seven laps past its scheduled distance at the 2.66-mile track. … Read entire article »

Scott ready to play offense at Talladega

Heading into the Nationwide Series season’s first superspeedway race, at Daytona in February, Scott admitted his Joe Gibbs Racing team played a little too much defense, and the result was an accident, engine failure and a 34th-place finish. For Saturday’s Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway, Scott and his team will go on offense. “Personally, I feel like the No. 11 team showed up at Daytona with the wrong mindset,” Scott said. “We showed up at Daytona very defensive, kind of on our heels, trying to guard against the bad things that can happen. NASCAR Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 Race Results

Brad Keselowski surged to the front with a huge push from runner-up Joey Logano on the last lap of a green-white-checkered-flag finish that extended the NASCAR Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 three laps beyond its posted distance of 117 laps.
