Richardson and R3 Motorsports set to take on Kentucky under the lights on Friday

CHINA GROVE, N.C. (July 5, 2011) – Friday night will be alright for fast cars and fighting for position while racing around the 1.5-mile oval of Kentucky Speedway when the NASCAR Nationwide Series rolls into town. Robert Richardson, Jr. and the No. 23 North Texas Pipe Chevrolet team will be doing their best to join into the Friday night fray as it unfolds over the 200-lap race. Kevin Harvick Kentucky Speedway Nationwide Series Advance

The NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to Kentucky Speedway this week with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for the inaugural tripleheader weekend at the Sparta, Ky., facility. Behind the wheel of the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala, Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) co-owner Kevin Harvick will go for his second win at the 1.5-mile track on Friday night. Elliott Sadler Kentucky Speedway Nationwide Series Advance

The No. 2 OneMain Financial team will unload in the Bluegrass State with driver Elliott Sadler competing at the Sparta, Ky., track for the first time in his career.  Although he has never participated in a race at the intermediate track, Sadler has tested at the facility multiple times. DOUBLE DUTY: Prior to the Nationwide Series race Friday night, Sadler will compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the track Thursday night. Steering the No. 2 Hunt Bros. Pizza Chevrolet Silverado, Sadler will log time on the 1.5-mile track for the first time in a truck. Joey Logano’s Nationwide win a big boost for driver

Bowyer Just Wants to Improve One Spot At Daytona

Clint Bowyer returns to the driver’s seat of the No. 33 Menards Chevrolet Impala this weekend for the Subway Jalapeno 250 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. Bowyer and the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team started the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series season together at Daytona in February. The Emporia, Kan., native collected the team’s first pole this season and finished a close second to teammate Tony Stewart in the No. 4 KHI Chevrolet. The KHI one-two finish, which was the third for the company in Nationwide Series competition, also landed in the record books. Wild finish goes Sorenson’s way at Road America

By Jim Heine | Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service ELKHART LAKE, Wis. — Reed Sorenson won the Bucyrus 200 Nationwide Series race Saturday at Road America under caution — and under odd circumstances. Justin Allgaier was leading when caution was called on the final lap of the third green-white-checkered-flag attempt on the 4.048-mile road course, but he ran out of gas at the top of Turn 6, allowing Sorenson to assume the lead on the 57th lap of the scheduled 50-lap race. But as the cars continued toward the finish, Ron Fellows zipped past Sorenson and was the first car to reach the pace car, which leads the cars around the track during cautions. 10th Anniversary of Stewart Getting Joe Gibbs his First Road Course Win

By the 2001 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) had built an impressive trophy collection in just 10 years as an organization competing in America’s premier form of motorsports. Dale Jarrett drove the No. 18 Interstate Batteries car to victory lane in the 1993 Daytona 500, and when Bobby Labonte took over for Jarrett in 1995, he won the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte (N.C.)
