Two Time WoO Late Model Champion Josh Richards Hits the NASCAR Ranks
Two-time World of Outlaws Late Model Series (WoO LMS) champion Josh Richards will make his first career start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) this week in Thursday’s UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. Joining forces with the reigning NCWTS owners’ champions, Richards will pilot the Kyle Busch Motorsports No. 15 Joy Mining Machinery Toyota Tundra in his debut in the series. In 2009, Timothy Peters joined Red Horse Racing (RHR) midway through the season at Michigan International Speedway. Up until that time Peters had enjoyed moderate success. However, it was not until his fourth race with RHR that he was able to break a very important threshold. It was at Kentucky Speedway where Peters earned his first Truck Series top-five finish when he brought home a fourth-place finish. Four-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday will be racing for win number three at Kentucky Speedway this weekend in the No. 33 Wisk® Laundry Detergent Chevrolet Silverado. This weekend’s UNOH 225 is the second race in a row where Hornaday will be shooting to capture a third victory at a 1.5-mile oval in his Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Chevrolet. Hornaday wins at Texas when Sauter is black-flagged
By John Sturbin / Special to Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service FORT WORTH, Texas—Ron Hornaday Jr. won the Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino 400k Friday night when race leader Johnny Sauter was black-flagged for changing lanes on the night’s final restart. Sauter, who had passed Hornaday for the lead with an outside move on Lap 130, was penalized for moving from the outside lane in front of Hornaday before crossing the start/finish line on a green-white-checkered restart on Lap 166. Sauter could pad his points lead at Texas

It’s the kind of supposition a driver can only reach when he’s having a year like that being enjoyed by Sauter, who sits atop the series standings heading into Friday night’s WinStar World Casino 400k at Texas Motor Speedway. “I just looked at the schedule (Monday) morning actually and looked at the next five or six races and I’m like, ‘Damn.
