NASCAR Drivers Suffering Because of the Economy?

Not these guys. While track attendance and revenue might be falling, drivers at the top level of NASCAR won’t have to worry about switching to pork and beans any time soon. Forbes has come out with a list of the 10 highest paid drivers in NASCAR last year. The income numbers include both race winnings and merchandise sales.

Robby Gordon to Start 31st in Sunday’s Daytona 500

Daytona Beach, Fla. – Robby Gordon and his No. 7 Jim Beam Toyota started 20th in today’s first 150-mile qualifying race, which determined the starting line-up for the Daytona 500. Gordon finished the 60-lap event in 22nd, which means that he will start Sunday’s Daytona 500 from the 31st position.

Mike Wallace Just Misses Making Daytona 500

Daytona Beach, Fl – TRG Motorsports missed making the Daytona 500 by one place today. The team ran in the second Gatorade Duel 150 with Mike Wallace and the No. 71 TRG Motorsports Chevrolet Impala SS finishing in 13th, just one place shy of making the field at Daytona International Speedway today.
