Labonte and TaxSlayer.com Racing for a Cause This Weekend

Augusta, Ga – This weekend, Bobby Labonte will be behind the wheel of the No. 71 TaxSlayer.com Chevrolet for Sunday night’s Emory Healthcare 500 at the Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway. For team sponsor, TaxSlayer.com, the race will have special meaning. The primary sponsor of Labonte and the TRG Motorsports team will place a special decal on the “C post” to support and give tribute to Lisa Murray, a dear friend to the TaxSlayer.com family who is currently undergoing treatment for colon cancer.

DuQuoin Mile Dirt ARCA Stock Car Race, a Schrader Racing Tradition

DuQUOIN, Ill. – It’s a throwback to how it used to be when people came from miles around to eat corn dogs and elephant ears at the fair while they waited for their national heroes to race Stock Cars and Champ Cars.

Joie Chitwood III is now a member of an elite club. Only Chitwood and John Cooper have run the two most iconic speedways in the country, Daytona and Indianapolis. Chitwood left Indianapolis Motor Speedway to go to work for International Speedway Corp. a year ago, and on Aug. 13 was named president of ISC’s crown jewel, Daytona International Speedway. Brought up in a family of stunt drivers, Chitwood knows racing and knows how to put on a show. He recently talked about the move with SportsBusiness Journal staff writer Michael Smith.
